"No exterminator can fix this"

Films: The Nest (1988)

Alias: None

Type: Man-Made

Location: Civilized area/Cave

Height/Weight: That of average roaches, depends on the form.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: This is not your ordinary swarm of killer insects. No, this is perhaps the most VILE colony of arthropods ever conceived. A brood that takes working together to almost Cronengburgian levels of unpleasantness.

History: Because its entire staff seems to be made of idiots, the corporation INTEC has been crafting a breed of cockroach that can stand normal bug repellant. Why? SCIENCE! Well, now the experiment is completely out of their control, as the self-breeding bugs have escaped into the community, and have not only been eating anything they can, but using the mutated bodies of their victims to carry out even more bloody carnage.

Notable Kills: Anytime someone dies, you can bet they're going to be used as a horrific meat puppet.

Final Fate: Eventually in their lair, thousands of roaches work together to make a gargantuanly horrible conglomeration of human bodies all the better to kill people with. Thankfully by that point, the recently planted time bomb vaporizes them all. Despite one surviving, it probably got squished right after the credits started to roll.

Powers/Abilities: Aside from massive self-reproduction and immunity to pesticides, the roaches can use, combine, and even mutate the bodies of whatever they kill and hollow out.

Weakness: Anything conventional, especially fire.

Scariness Factor: 4.5-Explosive breeders? Check. Insatiable appetites? Check. The ability to turn their kills into horrific bloody bug-zombies? That wasn't on the list...

Trivia: -For the most part, production of the film went smoothly. Except for one thing...the hundreds of roaches they got off the street wouldn't leave the studio when the film was done. In short, the place was an impromptu roach motel for several years.

-This film was the directorial debut of Terence H. Winkless, who would go on to direct several episodes in the Power Rangers franchise. He also managed some of the bugs during post-production of this film. One shatters to imagine what would happen if he let these things menace the Rangers at one point...

He just wants some lovin', but he's doing it VERY wrong in this film.

Still a step up from the McDonalds/Rick and Morty disaster.
Hell walks on six legs, it seems.

I knew this tanning salon was a scam! A horrifying one, at that.

You really don't want to see the outcome of this.
